Tenant and Landlord
Would you like to book a mediation service?
Mediation can be used between tenants and landlords and can help prevent homelessness by addressing issues such as non-payment of rent, breakdown in communication, damage to property and failure to carry out repairs.
Mediation between Tenants and Landlords can prevent homelessness by addressing issues such as non-payment of rent, breakdown in communication, damage to property and failure to carry out repairs. Any of the above can impact negatively on the Tenant’s enjoyment of the property and the smooth running of the Landlord’s business.
Trained and experienced mediators work with Tenant and Landlord to find the cause of the dispute and identify common ground or areas where each is willing to compromise. Mediation offers both parties the opportunity to help improve communication and look at resolutions which suit both the Landlord and the Tenant. Examples of these agreements include managed moves, arrears schedules and repairs being completed. Each completed mediation aims to encourage communication between Tenant and Landlord to agree the way they will resolve any future disputes or issues.
Yorkshire Mediation has delivered a Tenant/ Landlord mediation service for over 10 years and has a very high success rate. We also offer support to other agents who may assist people at risk of becoming homeless, through homelessness mediation services and training courses in using mediation to help find alternatives to eviction.
